PHAROS AI Factory at Infocom World 2025

PHAROS AI Factory, Greece’s national ecosystem for accelerating Artificial Intelligence innovation, participated in Infocom World 2025, held on 26 November 2025, in Athens

Organized by Smart Press, the 27th edition of the conference -held under the theme “AI-Volution: A Brave New World!”- brought together decision-makers, ICT leaders, and investors shaping the digital future to explore how Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming the business landscape. Discussions focused on the need for companies to adapt in an era where innovation is essential, highlighting developments in AI-driven applications, automated decision-making, and data analytics, while examining how the rapid acceleration of AI is reshaping economies, labor markets, and regulatory frameworks as governments continue their efforts to ensure responsible technological advancement.

Within this forward-looking context, PHAROS’ Consortium representatives S. Karozis, Deputy Technical Coordinator of PHAROS & Research Fellow at the Environmental Research Laboratory of NCSR “Demokritos”, V. Katsouros, Director of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) at ATHENA RC, I. Fundulaki, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at FORTH & Affiliated Researcher at GRNET and A. Voulodimos, Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA, took part in the panel discussion “The first AI Greek factory as a business model”. The discussion explored how PHAROS, Greece’s first AI Factory, is being introduced as a new business model that accelerates the development and commercial exploitation of AI solutions, delivering measurable value and enabling expansion across multiple sectors.

During the session, the representatives highlighted how PHAROS introduces a new framework for accelerating AI innovation in Greece, by providing advanced infrastructure, access to trusted datasets, and collaborative environments that bring together academia, industry, and public sector stakeholders. The discussion further emphasized the initiative’s capacity to drive economic and societal value, support the responsible development of AI, and enable the scalable deployment of AI solutions across diverse application domains.

PHAROS’ presence at the conference reflected the project’s steady expansion within Greece’s technological ecosystem, highlighting its role in providing new opportunities for applied research, digital innovation and cross-sector synergies. As Greece advances toward a more data-driven and innovation-oriented economy, PHAROS continues to serve as a key enabler for the development and adoption of cutting-edge AI solutions.
