On 29 January 2026, PHAROS: The Greek AI Factory, in collaboration with the AI-on-Demand platform (AIoD), organised the workshop “Co-creating Collaboration Pathways across EU AI Innovation Initiatives in Greece”, held in a hybrid format, with on-site participation at the premises of NCSR Demokritos.
The workshop brought together stakeholders from across the Greek AI ecosystem, including coordinators and partners from the Greek European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) SYNERGiNN, smartHEALTH, Smart Attica, HEALTH HUB, DigiAgriFood, GR digiGOV-innoHUB, EasyHPC, and nZEB Smart Home, as well as representatives from the Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) EnergyGuard and EnerTEF. The agenda was structured around a co-creation process aimed at strengthening coordination among the four European AI innovation vehicles –AIoD, PHAROS, EDIHs, and TEFs– by mapping current needs, challenges, priorities, and opportunities for collaboration across EU AI initiatives, in order to better address Greece’s digitalisation needs.
The session was facilitated by Christos Perentis (AIoD), Maria Venianaki and Zoey Covatsou (PHAROS AI Factory), and coordinated by Denia Kanellopoulou, Researcher at the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications at NCSR Demokritos. In total, 45 participants actively exchanged insights and perspectives, with discussions placing particular emphasis on cross-sector collaboration in the health, agri-food, energy, and digital government domains.
Through this co-creation workshop, PHAROS and the AI-on-Demand platform gathered valuable input to identify concrete collaboration pathways, potential quick wins, and next steps. The outcomes will contribute to strengthening synergies across EU AI innovation initiatives and further supporting the acceleration of AI adoption and innovation in Greece.
