PHAROS welcomes the establishment of “Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Factory S.A.”

PHAROS project welcomes the newly formed Growthfund holding subsidiary partner “Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Factory S.A.”.  

The subsidiary has been established with Growthfund holding a 70% share, while the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence holds the remaining 30%. In this context, the composition of the seven-member Board of Directors has been announced, bringing together executives with extensive international and domestic experience in technology, Artificial Intelligence and entrepreneurship.

The seven-member Board of Directors comprises the following:

  1. Thanos Papadimitriou, Chairman of the Board of Directors
  2. Afrodite Sevasti, Chief Executive Officer
  3. Verra Marmalidou, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee
  4. Emilios Chalamandaris, Head of Text-to-Speech (TTS) Technology and Research and Development (R&D) at Samsung Electronics
  5. Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos (ex-officio), Secretary General for Information Systems and Digital Governance
  6. Vasileios-Michail Karkatzounis (ex-officio), Special Secretary for Artificial Intelligence and Data Governance
  7. Ioannis Mastrogeorgiou, Special Secretary for Long-Term Planning at the Presidency of the Hellenic Government

PHAROS AI FACTORY partner participates in the consortium alongside the Project Coordinator, National Infrastructures for Research and Technology Network (GRNET S.A.), National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, National Technical University of Athens, and Athena Research Center for the implementation of the PHAROS AI Factory project. The project is funded through European and national resources under the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, aiming to establish a robust Artificial Intelligence ecosystem that connects research excellence with innovation and entrepreneurship in Greece.
