PHAROS AI Factory, Greece’s national ecosystem for accelerating Artificial Intelligence innovation, will participate at the first CNN Insights event of 2026, taking place on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, at 16:30, at Aigli Zappeion, Athens. The event, titled “Digital Sovereignty in Practice”, is organised by CNN Greece, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) as Strategic Partner.

Ioannis Mastrogeorgiou, Special Secretary for Strategic Foresight of the Greek Government, will participate as a speaker in Panel I: Digital Sovereignty & the Public Sector. During his intervention, he will address what it means for a country to be digitally sovereign and autonomous, and will highlight the role of PHAROS AI Factory in responding to this challenge at the national level.

The agenda features a keynote by Marcel Suers, Worldwide Private Cloud Portfolio Lead at HPE, and panels with representatives from HPE Greece & Cyprus, Alpha Bank, Accenture and the OTE Group.

Digital sovereignty is a core dimension of the European AI Factories initiative, of which PHAROS is a founding member. Through its upcoming infrastructure, trusted data environments and open AI tools, PHAROS AI Factory aims to contribute directly to Greece’s and Europe’s capacity to develop and govern AI independently, securely and in line with European values.
